She discovers a letter from Mrs Amery, the kind old woman who took Noah from her on the flight to Melbourne. Joanna leans in close to him. Mrs Amery writes about how beautifully they cared for their baby. Joanna goes back to work but is struggling to cope. Later she finds Alastair in the living room looking down at the floor, lost in thought. The Cry Episode 4 delivered a weak and predictable ending to a rubbish miniseries, but at least it had the decency to give TV’s most detestable man his welcome comeuppance. They try to rebuild their lives, but a surprise delivery changes everything. Joanna is livid. In Wilde Bay, Joanna unlocks the door to the new house she an Alastair visited all those months ago. She defends Joanna in the face of the prosecutor’s assault. She’s just a child.
