This is the first I've seen this and it looks fantastic! I do agree, centered legends would have looked better, but I was in this to support the start of a new profile and a new way to make more affordable sets. I know this is the flagship, and you want more people to use it...but 40% realistically aren't that popular.

Lots of good points here, especially with the minivan point. According to the /r/mk survey last year 40% is more popular than 96-key and 1800. You need to partner these sets with a 65%, a TKL, or a 96K. Trying to get people to buy caps sight unseen is difficult enough, but honestly I'd question a lot of the colorways/legend combos succeeding in a regular group buy, never mind being used to drive a $500k venture. not quite, Round 2 on massdrop is going to be here very soon though :). The way it was promoted didn't help in my opinion, I hope they take it as part of the feedback as well when they try again. Damn /u/evangs!

I was bummed since I got in on 3 sets and a hot swap minivan for $200 early bird. Vote + Add an option. I get that Evan wanted to stay true to his vision, but frankly you're just going to miss out on a massive amount of the community by not having the "boring" but tried and true mainstream colorways like WOB/BOW/Granite (paperwork doesn't count, contrast is way different and less mainstream friendly, and even most of the combos you can make are still pretty high on the "polarizing colorway" meter). 199 votes, 189 comments. thanks :D Round 2 will be here very soon and then hopefully I'll be able to start getting some stocked on the site. . I agree with all of your points except this one (and maybe the text legends point because I love icon mods).
I was in for one set and would likely have bought two or three more later after the launch, but I was reluctant to commit to more than one up front without being able to actually see what the quality is like. Hopefully u/evangs will see this, though I'm sure he has already heard these elsewhere from others. resist . It deters initial clicks rather than attract them. If you're going to keep icon mods, then they need to be simple.
Say that again, you might be half right ;). You should have a section for customer photos! Actual investors may be necessary to hit this amount like how dev/tty has Massdrop behind it.
