We were enthralled by the story and it kept everyone engaged and silent throughout, which was a nice change. i almost saw this film as somewhat of a rumination on feminism. We are all interested in seeing the film again in the light of what we have now learned. It does visualise the hysteria that culminates from devout Christians, and the fear of sin or corruption if individuals stray too far from the word of God. Still, I have to say that this is a gorgeous supernatural period drama that perhaps is too unconventional for most audiences. The Witch slowly engraves its illustrious witchcraft into your mind.
